License & Acceptable Use

KFS products are proprietary software. Purchasing or downloading a product grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use it for its intended purpose.

        You may: Use KFS products for personal or professional work. Export your own conversations and data. Share exported files as you see fit — they're your conversations.
      

        You may not: Reverse-engineer, decompile, or redistribute KFS software. Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the software itself. Use KFS products to violate any applicable laws or third-party rights.
      

Your Data

You own your data. Period. KFS products are designed local-first — your conversations, exports, and preferences belong to you and stay on your device unless you explicitly choose to send them somewhere (such as exporting to Google Drive, Dropbox, or Notion).

Accounts

Some KFS products offer optional paid tiers that require a Kindled Flame Studios account. When creating an account, you agree to:

Provide accurate information. Use a real email address you have access to. This is used for password resets and license recovery — nothing else.

Keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your password. We recommend using a unique password not shared with other services.

One account per person. Don't create multiple accounts to abuse free tiers or circumvent licensing. We're a solo dev studio — play fair.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that are used to abuse our services, but we'll always try to communicate first.

Free & Pro Tiers

CinderACE offers a Free tier with no account required and no time limits. Free features remain free — we won't bait-and-switch features behind a paywall after you've come to depend on them.

Pro unlocks additional formats, export themes, cloud export, and future premium features. Pro is available as a monthly subscription, annual subscription, or one-time lifetime purchase.

If your subscription lapses, your account downgrades to Free. You keep full access to Free-tier features. No data is deleted. No exports are lost. You just lose access to Pro-only features until you resubscribe.

Lifetime purchases grant permanent Pro access for the product version purchased. We intend lifetime to mean lifetime — but if a future product is fundamentally different from what you purchased, we'll handle that fairly and transparently.

Third-Party Services

Some KFS products integrate with third-party platforms (such as Google Drive, Dropbox, Notion, or AI chat providers). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. KFS is not responsible for third-party service availability, changes, or data handling once your data leaves our product.

When a KFS product connects to a third-party service, it does so using credentials you provide and only performs actions you initiate.

Payments & Refunds

Paid features are processed through Stripe via our website. You are redirected to a Stripe-hosted checkout page — KFS never sees, processes, or stores your payment details.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual) unless cancelled. You can cancel anytime from your KFS account page — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, so you keep Pro access through what you've already paid for.

Refunds. If you're unsatisfied with a purchase, reach out to us and we'll work with you. We'd rather make it right than have an unhappy user. Refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis.

Disclaimers

KFS products are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do our best to ship reliable software, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation, compatibility with every system, or that exported data will be accepted by all downstream services.

Limitation of liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kindled Flame Studios shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of our products. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific product in question.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as our products evolve. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of any KFS product after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

We won't make changes designed to reduce your rights retroactively. If a material change is needed, we'll do our best to communicate it clearly.

Age Requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to use KFS products. If you are under 18, you should have permission from a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Michigan, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
